8th Grade
The year begins with a review of 7th Grade Spanish with themes including family, friends and sports. The grammar review touches on basic article-noun relationship, and present-tense conjugation of the verbs to be, to have, to go, to give and to remain. Next, we revisit possessive adjectives and stem-changing verbs. Finally, we delve into the new Spanish textbook which includes chapters on Health, Vacationing, Free Time, Shopping, Flying on a plane, and Backpacking/Camping. Of course, we will add to our knowledge of grammar as we journey the year. Eighth Graders will be taught: the preterite tense of regular -ar verbs, direct object pronouns, affirmative and negative expressions, comparatives and superlatives, the present-progressive tense and reflexive verbs.
